Welcome back, friends, family, and guests! Join me as I reminisce about my most recent international exploration. It had been over a year since I last embarked on such an adventure, and the choice to venture into the wilderness of Africa was one that left many curious. I have been asked numerous times – why Africa? To that, I respond with an emphatic “Why not?”

In my previous travels to Kenya and Morocco, I made amazing memories and was left with a hunger to explore more of this beautiful continent. Inspired by those experiences, I decided to satisfy that hunger by exploring Zimbabwe and South Africa.

I took a unique approach on my recent journey by opting for an organized trip. Over the course of 10 unforgettable days, we traversed the African terrain in a sturdy overland vehicle, setting up camp in tents each night. Here is the itinerary of our road trip:

Our journey began at Victoria Falls, where we were captivated by the awe-inspiring beauty of the waterfall. As we embarked on our road trip through Southern Africa, we ventured further south into the untamed wilderness of Zimbabwe.

In Hwange National Park, we found ourselves surrounded by an abundance of wildlife, including elephants, giraffes, and lions. The journey continued to Matobo National Park, where massive granite boulders created a surreal landscape, offering a glimpse into ancient civilizations through captivating rock art.

Crossing the border into South Africa, we found ourselves in Mapungubwe National Park, a hidden gem where rolling savannahs met the Limpopo and Shashe rivers.

The adventure continued in Kruger National Park, a true wildlife paradise. The park afforded us countless encounters with the animals and a symphony of wildlife sounds, making each moment exhilarating and unforgettable.

Completing our journey, we arrived in the vibrant city of Johannesburg. The city offered us a taste of urban South Africa and left us with cherished memories.

But the adventure didn’t end there. I decided to extend my solo exploration, traveling to Cape Town. Nestled between Table Mountain and the deep blue waters of the Atlantic, this coastal city welcomed me with its vibrant energy, picturesque landscapes, and a blend of cultures.

Overall, this trip through Southern Africa was a remarkable journey, filled with breathtaking scenery, thrilling wildlife encounters, and the rich tapestry of African heritage. It was a journey that left an indelible mark on my soul, forever reminding me of the beauty and wonder of this incredible continent.
